$207 Million Cash - Not Your Average Drug Bust.

The U.S. government called it “the largest single drug cash seizure the world has ever seen.”

The way U.S. and Mexican authorities describe 44-year-old Zhenli Ye Gon, he might have sprung from some pulp novelist’s overheated imagination.

Born in Shanghai, he lived in Mexico and ran a pharmaceuticals company — a front, authorities allege, that supplied Mexican drug cartels with massive quantities of a chemical used to make the street drug methamphetamine. Police raided his luxurious Mexico City home in March, carting off what they said was $207 million, most of it in $100 bills that had been stashed behind false walls and in closets.

This is a man who owned a fleet of luxury cars and had mistresses in several countries, according to Mexican officials. In recent years, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration said, he gambled away nearly $126 million in Las Vegas casinos.

Confiscated Lists:

  • $ 205 million U.S. $
  • 18 million Mexican pesos (1.6 million US $)
  • 200,000 Euros ($280,000)
  • 113,000 Hong Kong $ ( $15,000)
  • 11 Centenarios (Mexican gold bullion coins made of 1.20565 Oz. of pure gold)
  • A great amount of jewelry, of unknown value

Confiscated along with the money were also:

  • Two Mexican-style dwellings of approximately 20 million pesos (1.8 million US $)
  • 1 Lab in construction of unknown value
  • 7 Luxury Vehicles

  1. OMG!!!!!!!!!! All i can say is that 207 is an odd number. I truly believe that there was a few million unaccounted for. And i am absolutely not mad!

Yeah, totally shocking. I just can’t imagine having that kind of money just stacked around behind bedroom. After the bust, enforcement agency recovered bodies of 2 undercover agent worked in this case at different location. Definitely more conspiracy behind all this.
