A magnitude 8.2 earthquake hit Indonesia, Wednesday, September 12.

The undersea quake hit at about 6:10 p.m. (7:10 a.m. EDT), the U.S. Geological Survey said. It was centered 80 miles southwest of Sumatra island at a depth of 18.6 miles.

“Earthquakes of this size have the potential to generate a widespread destructive tsunami that can affect coastlines across the entire Indian Ocean Basin,” the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said, warning that waves could hit Indonesia and Australia within an hour, and Sri Lanka and India within three hours.

Last year one in four adults read no books at all in the past year. Read this article, “One in four read no books last year” by the Washington Post.

Nearly a third of men and a quarter of women fit that category. They tend to be older, less educated, lower income, minorities, from rural areas and less religious.

The survey reveals a nation whose book readers, on the whole, can hardly be called ravenous. The typical person claimed to have read four books in the last year _ half read more and half read fewer. Excluding those who hadn’t read any, the usual number read was seven.I’ve read similar report that the average American reads less than 4 books after formal education. That’s truly surprising statistic.

All my successful clients’ homes and homes that valued more than average priced homes ($750,000 in Southern CA) contained a library. I’ve noticed while working as a real estate agent.  Did the owners just suddenly decide to put a library or start it years ago?

It’s very obvious that they started that library many years ago. They read good books to improve their skills, expand their thinking, define their character, and impact their life.

Average book price is $26.81 based on the publisher’s retail price. Pay $26 for someone else’s years of knowledge, hard work and experience. That’s cheap compare to what you can get out of it.

I strongly believe that everyone has equal chance to become successful. You have the seeds of greatness inside you. The education investment you make in yourself is the fertilizer and water. If you’re always willing to learn, your success is assured. It’s time to unplug TV and read more books.

Should I build my own WordPress Theme?

That’s the question I had in my mind since the beginning of the eBestAgent blog.  I was searching for the right theme for my blog for quite long time maybe too long, lol.  I thought that maybe it’s better to develope my own WordPress theme instead of searching.  After countless hours of searching and testing, I’ve found what I was looking for… it’s Mandigo theme..

But as I blog along, I feel the need for my own theme.  Theme that suit my blog subject well, simpler and lighter.  Mandigo theme takes little longer to load than other themes.   I want to add API blocks, better & more informative footer,  lighter widget columns and more.

It seems like the more I blog, the more I want to improve my blog.  How strange.  When I first started blogging little more than 2 months ago, I committed about an hour/day for my blog.  I didn’t know how long I could sustain that.  But now I’m spending little more than 16 hours/week on my blog.  It’s fun no doubt.  I’ve found my another hobby.  Maybe I’m addicted to blogging.

To satisfy my addiction, I strongly suggested myself that it’s time to have my own theme. It will be fun.  I get to learn more about XHTML, CSS, and PHP.  If it’s good enough, I’ll let other download and freely use it.

I know that it requires quite long hours to develop a new theme from scratch. But I’ll try and I’ll never give up until I develop at least a basic one.  I’ll get on it as soon as I publish this post.  If you can give some pointers, feel free to drop a line.  I’ll post updates on this WordPress theme development.
